La Liga Contra el Cáncer recibe importante distinción por su labor

Como parte de la conmemoración por el aniversario 489 aniversario de Lima, la Liga Contra el Cáncer (LCC) recibió la “Medalla Ciudad de Lima”, máxima distinción otorgada por la Municipalidad de Lima, por su contribución con el desarrollo de la comunidad limeña, desde sus incansables esfuerzos por la prevención, diagnóstico temprano y concienciación del cáncer en nuestro país.
Desde su fundación, en 1950, la Liga Contra el Cáncer (LCC) viene trabajando de forma ininterrumpida para brindar detecciones oportunas y educación para la población en general y, de forma especial, para las personas vulnerables que no cuentan con fácil acceso a los servicios de salud.
La institución sin fines de lucro ha implementado numerosas campañas gratuitas en todo el país, promoviendo la importancia de la detección oportuna y la adopción de hábitos saludables. Gracias a su labor, son miles las personas beneficiadas desde sus iniciativas sociales itinerantes o sus centros detectores (ubicados en Pueblo Libre y Cercado de Lima) que, con costos módicos, atienden diversos exámenes, pruebas médicas e intervenciones menores.
Desde la Liga Contra el Cáncer (LCC) aseguraron haber recibido con orgullo y mayor motivación, este reconocimiento de la comuna limeña, que suma para que más personas puedan conocer y acceder a los servicios de la entidad benéfica.

La “Medalla Ciudad de Lima” es un homenaje que condecora a personalidades e instituciones que cuyas actividades empresariales, ayuda humanitaria y/o constante actividad de responsabilidad social han tenido un impacto positivo en la mejora de la capital y sus habitantes.
